Ch-Ch-Choffy

Are you familiar with Choffy?  Me either!  Recently I was contacted by an independent Choffy manager and asked if I would like to try a sample to review on my blog.  I was hesitant, but agreed.  And guess what?!  It was quite good.  It tastes just like dark chocolate to me.  Choffy is brewed chocolate.  It is 100% premium cacao beans, roasted and ground for a rich, full flavored drink.  Choffy is richer than hot chocolate and brews like coffee.  Not only does it taste good, it is good for you.  It supplies you with long lasting energy without the negative effects of caffeine.

Brewing the sample was easy.  This video will show you how to brew Choffy with a sample french press.

Would you like to win a sample of you own?  Leave a comment on this post and I will randomly draw a winner.  This giveaway will close Friday, November 2nd.  Good luck!

*Please make sure you have your email attached to your profile so I can contact you, should you win.

**No financial compensation was received to host this giveaway, however I did receive a sample to review.  All opinions are my own.

Giveaway is closed.  Winner will be announced Sat.

Black Interior Door

Pinterest is a constant source of inspiration.  After months of looking through my pins, I finally decided to paint my front door black.

Before pictures of the front interior door.  Notice my lovely paper window shade!

After- I love the look of the door painted black.  I replaced the paper shade with decorative window film, purchased at Home Depot.

The boxwood wreath was a recent purchase from Lowe's.

My entryway is small, but I love the dramatic look of the interior door painted black.

What are your thoughts?  Would you paint your doors black?

12 Egg Frittata

Need a quick breakfast idea for a crowd?  Cheesy, hearty, and full of fresh vegetables this recipe is easy to make.  It's perfect for a house full of hungry guests.  This versatile recipe can be changed up to match your taste.  Choosing your vegetables based on what’s in season is a great way to adjust this recipe.

Ingredients
12 large eggs
3 shallots (sliced)
1/2 red pepper (sliced)
1/2 green pepper (sliced)
1/2 cup fresh baby spinach
1/2 cup sliced Portabella mushrooms
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp dill weed
Sea salt
Fresh cracked pepper
1 tablespoon of butter for the pan
Handful of fresh Parmesan cheese and parsley for garnish

Toss eggs and cheese in the blender and mix until well blended.

Add dill weed, salt and pepper and mix until combined.

Heat a 16-inch non-stick, wok over medium heat. Add butter to pan and melt.

Pour egg mixture into pan.

Top egg mixture with fresh vegetables.  Using a spatula slightly immerse vegetables into egg mixture.

Allow the frittata to cook for about 15-20 minutes on low to medium heat until egg mixture is set and no longer jiggles.

Remove from pan and cut into equal servings.

Sprinkle with parsley and Parmesan cheese.  Serve immediately.

Martha Stewart at Home Depot

On Saturday, Oct. 20th the Home Depot in Buckhead hosted a free Martha Stewart interactive decor workshop.

The first 100 attendees received a $5 The Home Depot gift card and an autographed copy of Martha Stewart Living magazine.  Each attendee also received a free one year subscription to Martha Stewart Living magazine.

I'm a big fan of Martha Stewart.

As she walked on stage, I couldn't help but smile like a goof when I saw her.

Also in attendance was Kevin Sharkey, the editorial director of decorating for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.

It was a such a great event.  I attended the session with fellow blogger and friend, Lakeitha.  We were so excited to see Martha and listen as she shared her favorite decorating tips for the holidays.

Her decorating ideas are always so amazing.

At the end of the session, Martha took a few questions from the audience.

She really engaged the audience and you could tell she was just as excited to be there as we were!

Martha, you're such an inspiration.

Thibaut Orissa: My New Dining Room Pillows

As soon as I saw it, there was no question- I had to have it.  I fell in love!  It was the most beautiful chair I had ever seen.  But it was expensive, very expensive.  The chair was refurbished by artist Andrea Mihalik and sold in her Etsy shop.  There was no way I could ever justify spending that much money on a chair.  Unless, in my husband's words, it(the chair) got up and made me breakfast everyday- ha!  Oh well.  My love for the chair didn't die though, so I searched for a cheaper alternative.

After searching for months, I was able to locate the name of the fabric, but $68 per yard was way more than I wanted to spend.  Then after doing a Google search, the heavens parted and the angels sang.  I was able to locate an affordable pair of pillow covers for sale on Ebay.  Yes!  I was quite excited and I couldn't wait for them to arrive in the mail.

I love the pattern.  The colors work well in the room too.

The dining room is still a work in progress, but for now, I'm pleased with how things are coming together.

Cinnamon Honey-Butter Popcorn

How do you relax at the end of the day?  For me it's pretty simple, at the end of the day all I want to do is sit with my husband and watch a movie.

Last night, I decided to make our movie night more special with delicious popcorn. Movie night and popcorn go together perfectly, especially when it's slathered with butter and honey.

Pick out your favorite movie, snuggle up, and enjoy all the popcorn you'd like!

Ingredients
10 cups of air popped popcorn
1/2 cup salted butter
1/2 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions
Place freshly popped popcorn in a large bowl.  In a medium saucepan melt butter on medium low.  Once butter is melted add the honey and cinnamon.  Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a foaming boil, stirring constantly.  Once it has reached the boiling point, remove the pot from the heat and drizzle it over the popcorn, tossing the popcorn with a long-handled spoon as you pour.  Mix until evenly coated.  Enjoy!

*Some of our recent favorite Netflix movies-

1.  We Need to Talk About Kevin
2.  Arn: The Knight Templar
3.  Cyrus
4.  Drive
5.  Shotgun Stories
6.  The Burning Plain
7.  Hanna
8.  Due Date
9.  Fargo
10. War of the Arrows

Fall Porch Decorating

I hope you're all having a great weekend!  We had beautiful fall weather today.  I was able to get some yard work done that I'd been postponing for the last few weeks.

After cleaning up the yard, I went to Home Depot and came home with some fall plants and pumpkins to decorate the porch with.

We had a few dead trees cut down in our yard last week and I asked my husband to save a few stumps for me.  I used the stumps to display the pumpkins.

I filled the window boxes with snapdragons, pansies and mustard greens.  Hopefully I can keep the plants alive and thriving!

I purchased the lantern last year from the thrift store.  I gave it a quick makeover with spray paint.

The pumpkin planters are candy pails purchased for $1 and filled with mums.

I've had this wreath forever.  Years later and I still love it!

That's it!  I had fun decorating my front porch this year.  I chose to keep things simple, but welcoming.  Thank you for reading, friends!
